Little Pebbles baby and toddler group
*Update as of 5/11/2020* Further legislation and guidance has been published by the government which means the Little Pebbles groups we run are able to continue during lockdown 2! This is amazing news, and we are really excited to be able to welcome you back next week to our sessions so that we can support you as parents and carers during this extremely anxious and potentially lonely time, and to play a little part in the development of all the lovely little ones you bring along with you, through play and certain forms of interaction with others.
Little Pebbles is a weekly group held on Wednesday mornings and now also Thursday mornings at Cornerstone Church Liverpool on Ramilies Road. It is designed to allow opportunities for young children to learn through playing, but also to provide support for parents and carers seeking to bring up their children in the best possible way.
The normal format of the group involves a time of free-play for children, time for parents/carers to chat and spend time with one another, as well as a snack time with refreshments for children and adults, and a song time to finish.
Due to the restrictions in place as a result of Covid-19 we have had to change the format of the group and put in place a variety of guidelines, but we are so excited to confirm that we now have a weekly session taking place! We are doing everything we can to get the groups up and running so that we can do as much as possible as a church community to support parents/carers and young children during the difficult period we are living in at the moment. The group will now have a maximum number of attendees allowed in the building at one time (this number includes children and babies) and due to numbers increasing we are moving to having two sessions on Wednesdays which will run at 9-10am and 10.30-11.30am and one session on a Thursday running from 9.30am to 11am.
As preschool children are no longer counted in the total number of people who can attend our sessions (due to the changes in guidance from the government at the start of November 2020), we are able to be more flexible with how many signups we can accept in each session. However, we will need to monitor numbers to ensure that social distancing is still possible, given the small space in the room we have available. Some toys will be provided, but these will be limited in range and will only be plastic ones so that cleaning can be done effectively. You are also welcome to bring your own toys from home, but we ask that you don't share these unless they are cleaned in-between usage. Cleaning wipes will be provided for the toys in each group of 6 so that children can interact with toys but only after they have been wiped down by parent/carers in-between. No snack time or refreshments will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own with you should you wish to. The shorter time for the sessions and the time in-between the sessions will allow for cleaning of all key areas of the building and the toys provided before the next group arrives. We are also obliged to request that all adults wear a mask throughout their time in the building unless they are medically exempt from needing to do so.
Further details about entry and exit points, sanitiser, toilet provision etc. can be found on the file in the link below. We ask that you spend a few minutes reading over these before coming along so that we can keep everyone as safe as possible whilst still having time to spend together during this very unusual season we find ourselves in.
Finally, we have to ask you to pre-register your attendance so that we can monitor numbers and to aid in our track and trace responsibilities. Please fill in the form below to do this. A new form will be required to be filled in each week.
We really hope you can make it, and look forward to seeing you!
